Where do you mean by ‘East Williamsburg’?

Excellent question!

For the AvenueNYC Revitalization Program, East Williamsburg refers to the part of North Brooklyn nestled between Williamsburg, Bushwick, and BedStuy. Specifically, it’s a triangular area bordered by the BQE along the northwest, Broadway along the southwest, and Bushwick Ave by the east.

Having said that, everyone is welcome to the survey and to collective revitalization efforts, regardless of what you call our neighborhood!

What is AvenueNYC?

The AvenueNYC Commercial Revitalization Program is a 3-year grant program administered by the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS). It supports community-based organizations in planning and implementing programs for a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable future of local main streets.

We are currently in Year 1 of the program, which is dedicated to conducting a needs assessment of the physical, social, environmental, and economic conditions of East Williamsburg’s commercial corridors.

What is the East Williamsburg Collaborative? What is a BID?

The East Williamsburg Collaborative is a partnership between the Grand St and Graham Ave Business Improvement Districts (BIDs). Both BIDs are local non-profit organizations who have been serving East Williamsburg for 40 years. The AvenueNYC program allowed the two BIDs to formally join efforts to serve the wider neighborhood beyond their respective corridors.

The Collaborative further partners with and is supported by local community organizations and elected officials:
